Blackplague is a plague dragon. Not just her flight. Literally. When she was born, she contracted a powerful, incurable illness that should have claimed her life. However, her magical potential was so strong that it was able to prevent her from dying. However, that does not stop her body from being infected in the first place. While Blackplague is perfectly fine... rumor has it that her mere presence wiped out her entire clan.
After being on the run from a group of dragon hunters, she passed out on the shores of the icefields. As some illnesses are, the disease slowed down, and, with a whole lot of patience and even more bravery (or stupidity, it depends on how you think of it), Venomstrike was able to bring her to the clan. When she arrived, she spent 2 years in quarantine, locked off behind layers of ice. Most of the dragons were scared to meet her, but Pantheon, being the... questionable lad that he was, wasn't afraid. Whether or not it was because of empathy, bravery, or stupidity, the two dragons fell in love, separated only by a foot of solid ice.
Years after, Venomstrike finally completed some fancy alchemy magic mumbo-jumbo on a ruby pendant, which created a magical field around the spiral. Now allowed to traverse the clan outside her lair a couple of hours at a time, Blackplague was finally able to fully introduce herself. When outside, she spends her time wisely, exploring the world, borrowing books from Valygar, and, if others are brave enough, talk with fellow clan members.
Bless her cursed but beautiful soul.
