  • Aule is an enigmatic figure to everyone he comes across. With no friends or ties, he travels from place to place, always ending up back in the desert he calls home, all the while peddling the wares he picks up along the way. He has an odd allure many find hard to resist and it makes it all the easier to sell his items and barter. But it would be wise not to make deals outside the range of objects and currency, he is endlessly crafty and has an impeccable memory.
  • He is never without a smile, be it a sly smirk or a small upturn of his mouth, but some question if he is just cynically amused or if he is truly happy at all. There is a noticeable bite to all his quips and remarks regardless of how severe or petty they are, even his vaguely positive comments are lightly tinted with sarcasm like it's etched into his personality, or he has some kind of grudge against everything.
  • Secrets are one of his specialties, he collects them like fireflies in a jar and hoards them in the vault of his mind. It gives him satisfaction to be one of the few souls who know of so many things, to be someone other's may not even realize overheard their gossip or dark confessions. But there are secrets he'd rather not know, secrets he would never sell for any amount of treasure or gems...
  • Despite Exie being his son, Aule has no plans on informing Elis and their other companions of their relation. He knows it causes Exie a lot of discomfort and conflict to see him so often while being unable to do or say anything about it, but he is somewhat apathetic of his son's problem, as he would much rather stay in their current business dealings. He's always reminded by a quiet voice in the back of his mind that Northstar wouldn't have wanted him to act so aloof towards their son's feelings, but it is swept away easily enough.
