GKaze is one of the oldest dragons of the clan, and one of Bluebird’s closest advisors. He also knows the winds better than any other dragon. He has taught generations of young dragonets to navigate the trickier wind currents of the Windswept Plateau. Of his students, only two, Mango and Skybright, have ever come close to matching his navigational talent. On clear days the three can be seen racing, high up in the sky, the sun flashing on their wings.

Kaze's steam powered wings help him stay aloft for longer, and his goggle protect his eyes from the weather. When Kaze isn’t flitting about the heavens with the youngsters, he can usually be found cloistered away with Mizu, working on new steam or magic powered gadgets to let him fly for longer. His sparkling goblin, a match for any beasts they might encounter, accompanies him on longer flights, and on these trips Kaze’s return is marked by a peal of thunder.

Kaze's egg was found by Bluebird while she was foraging with her mate Raven. At the time the small clan, which consisted of only a handful of dragons, was constantly on the move, avoiding the Beast Clans. Kaze took to the air the day he hatched, and had an extraordinary talent for flight. When he was old enough, he left the clan to search for a new territory that they could call home, and be safe from the Beast Clans.

He was absent for weeks. He flew through storms and mists, and when he finally returned to the clan, triumphant and ready to bring them to their new home, he found that many dragons had abandoned the already small clan. The clan, diminished as it was, followed Kaze to their new home. It was not perfect, and they would have many battles with the beasts ahead of them, but the clan finally had a place to safely raise their young and keep their hoard. They named their home Bluebird's Roost, for Bluebird, their leader.
