Leif || Viking
Middle-Age | Male | Pansexual HISTORY Born to a Wildclaw mother and an Imperial father, Leif's upbringing was a rough one. He and the rest of his family are vikings, and tender loving care wasn't something that was high up on their list of priorities. His childhood – if there even was one – was short and brutal, and was over well before he actually became an adult. However, this is not something Leif broods on, or sees as unfair. Rather, he is happy for his upbringing, believing it led him to be the strong, capable warrior he is today. Although they no longer keep in touch, Leif is very fond of his parents, and thinks of them quite often. When he was old enough to be on his own, Leif struck out to create a life for himself. He built the appearance of your usual Viking: he wears multiple animal furs and pelts to display his hunting prowess, has a beautifully braided beard and a striking, powerful,well-muscled body that all comes together to create the perfect killing machine. While Imperials are not usually known to choose this type of life, Leif was born into it, and he would die in it. On the battlefield, he quickly makes his prowess known. His main area of employment is that of a mercenary on neighboring conflicts. Sometimes, dragons will even come to Leif to ask for his “services,” knowing him as someone who can get the job done. This doesn't bother him at all, and if he can butcher troublesome dragons while also earning money for it, then so be it. PERSONALITY Although he seems like your average “brawn over brains” type of dragon, that couldn't be farther from the truth for Leif. Part of his success comes from his intelligence, as he is a very smart drake underneath all of his muscle and frightening exterior. As with most Vikings, this intelligence is most easily seen on the battlefield, where his practiced and thought-out strategies allow him to win almost every fight he gets in. He has always believed that the most progress and learning comes from the battlefield, and in doing so, he is able to exercise his natural tendencies as a Viking while also learning more about his world each time he goes into battle. While he is a fighter first and foremost, he does spend a lot of time indulging his intellectual curiosities with books and travels. He's not one to refuse a good book, unless, of course, he has killing to do. Those who meet him are often surprised at the depth of his literary knowledge, as most dragons expect him to be stupid and uneducated. His parents are to thank for his want for knowledge; schooling was a very important part of Leif's upbringing, short as it was. Leif has no family close by, no mate, and no children. |
