B I O G R A P H Y

Aven. A name that means forest. I guess that you could say that I was always meant to end up here within the trees. I don’t know who named me, all I know is that is what I am called. Maybe they knew that I would come here to settle alongside the trees. I do not remember much from my childhood besides the storms. It was always dark until the lightning cracked across the sky loud enough that you would have thought that it really did tear a hole into the heavens. I remember the rain too. It was never warm rain where I lived, always ice cold and constant. Maybe that’s why I don’t like rain anymore. That’s a funny thought, a lightning born dragon that doesn’t like the storm. I feel bad for my parents giving life to a disappointment like myself.

No matter, they know nothing of me or if I live. I am sure that they wouldn’t like me if they met me now. One that lives to breathe with the Earth and hides from the stormy skies. Although a consolation is that I finally like me so that counts for something. I live within in this clan not as a wander but a member. They welcomed me with open arms and without another thought. I had a mate but he was taken from me long ago. I live alone now speaking mostly to Glademother. I am the one within the clan that is permitted an audience with her in order to inform and collaborate. You could call that my job, the voice of Nature. I find it funny that someone as quiet as I would carry a title like that.

Glademother is my closest family. She allows me an audience to help better my clan. It was my friends from the clan of KCSquib that brought me to her for the first time after I stumbled into the Glad. Lost, confused, and completely desolate. I had nothing but the scales on my back. The scars from the strikes of lightning I bore with malice and anger. It is through my relationship with Nature that I have come to find myself once again. Someone who I was always meant to be. Kind and understanding with the loss of my temper that mirrored that of an evening storm.

A fight every day is waged to bring myself back from the brink. I roll in and out like the ocean between safe and sound or enraged and treacherous. I am not the one who holds herself to a lower standard than that of her clan. I fight to be better and grow like that of a flower in hopes that one day that I blossom into a nurturing and wonderfully fragrant. A battle worth fighting every day so that I may one day be worthy of holding an audience at the end of my time with Glademother when I return to her loving embrace.

_ Voice of Nature _

____As the Voice of Nature I come when the Glademother calls. She sounds on the wind and the vines vibrate with intention. When it is urgent the mushrooms glow and the flowers close which is how I know to run. Seeing her for the first and the millionth time never decreases her beauty and power. That is nothing to compare to that feeling, the feeling of life that flows through her. When she speaks the Glade is there, vibrating with the same intention.

____When I travel I can still feel her. I know that she is with me, a flutter of a leaf here or a curl of a vine there. I always know that she is with me, and my clan at any time. No matter how far we travel she gives us her strength and fortifies our hearts. It is in the Glade that I have found my home with her and her children among the branches and rocks covered in moss. That is where I truly belong.

_ Before I was Here_

____The chilling fringes stopped me from moving much. My siblings buzzed around powered by the electricity that flowed through our veins, for me though it made my scales ruffle painfully. I couldn’t move without the shocks sending me into a seizure. My parents disappointment was always evident when they looked at their pitiful progeny.

____As I wandered through the lands I ventured into many walks of life. I was a maid in one, a trader in another, a hustler and a thief. Through these different walks of life one thing remained the same, I never truly fit in. I was on the fringes and allowed to stay out of pity. My wounds internal and out were easily spotted and because of that dragons pitied me. It wasn’t always a bad thing because it allowed me to survive, but I was not truly living. Until a dragon spirit brought me home with her when I was lost in a battle. It was here that I was taken to the Glade and moved to a clan of my own. Home

Main Theme: Save You

______ Outside of her role in the clan Aven has more to her than meets the eye. Abandoned. Betrayed. Hurt. Lost. All words to describe what happened. A nest she so carefully watched, her mate was out. She was tired and believed she could rest with all of her hatchlings. She closed her eyes for a moment and that was all it took.

______ When she was woken by her mate returning one of her children were missing. Her child. Panic filled her as she looked for Tasha to no avail. It is said that the trees themselves weeped with her at the loss of her daughter.

______ It took five years for any information to surface on her child. Cisco returned from a normal information excursion to see the state of the world. Only this time a new story. Of a dragon with great power hungry for blood. It was the scar that everyone detailed. The scar you saw before you died. Over her eye.

______ Aven was thrown back to when her youngest tried to fly for the first time. Out of the nest and into a thicket. Aven was able to heal most of the wounds except the deepest gash that caused her daughter to lose sight in one of her eyes.

______ It was then decided that it was her mission to bring her child home. The guard and anyone that could be spared was sent on a retrieval mission. Only when they returned many members were missing… But there was her daughter. Tainted. Angry. Vengeful. Dark.

______ Fear and pain filled Aven. The last of what she could take. Her magic poured into the collar she wore, a gold traded with the Earth region. Aven used it to bind her daughter to the clan, severing the tie with the darkness that had her. Tasha would be unable to leave the clan as long as the magic has a source, and as a direct line to nature itself meant that the tie was permanent.

______ Aven vowed to save her daughter. To bring her back. To give her back the life she had before even if her daughter hated her now.

Though she may have a couple of scars, her overall appearance still remains so beautiful, so untainted--and that is exactly why I find her to be the purest-looking dragon in your den. Despite those scars, she is still able to fly with the butterflies, hop with the frogs, and slither with the snakes. Like, come on! Even the peacevine flowers love her!
