Lore

Lore by Kururin: Fiercely devoted to the Stormcatcher, Vel sends all of her offspring to support her deity, often before they have even grown and matured. While some might view her as a cruel, heartless mother who breeds only with the intention of producing more offspring to serve the Stormcatcher, she knows the incredible honor that exaltation earns each of her offspring and takes comfort in this.

Continued by ShadyRabbit: Vel takes to the sea with her clutch every mating season. She must return to the Shifting Expanse. Her offspring will never serve the likes of the Icewarden. Vel is well aware of Aries's wrath should she ever find out, so she always takes the same number of unsuspecting hatchlings home with her in their place. However, as long as there's a contribution, Aries will overlook that the exalted offspring never do look quite like their parents.
