Vatna Monster-Slayer Biography The Arcane Clan where Vatna was born practiced several strange branches of magic, but perhaps the most intriguing was their mimicry of the future-divining magic of the water Flight. Though not nearly as long-lasting, clear, or consistent, the Clan was able to see a few choice bits of the future. One vision, however, was very consistent - an attack on their Clan by some sort of goliath, magic-warped monster. All the Clan's efforts to prepare for or avoid it did nothing to stop the vision. That was, until other dragons of the Clan returned with a special sword that had been their project. The blade was an ambitious project, a combination of items, techniques, and enchantments from allies in all eleven Flights - steel from the Shifting Expanse, enchantments of curse-resistance from the plague dragons of the Wasteland, hardiness spells from Dragonhome, a mild illumination spell for lighting dark passageways from the Sunbeam Ruins, an old technique for serrating blade edges preserved by the Clans of the Southern Ice Fields, a winding hilt construction for strength and stability from a Clan in the Viridian Labyrinth, reactive jewels fetched from the depths of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, a hilt design to allow single-handed and double-handed combat won in a game with the dragons of the Tangled Wood, a spell of lightweightedness from the Windswept Plateau, and all put together by blacksmiths of the Ashfall Waste, its enchantments woven together by the very Arcane dragons who had set out to assemble it.
