Boulder

It's been almost a year since he left... I know I should trust him more, but it's been a year without anything. No status report, no letter, no nothing, just silence, and on my end it's just the void left behind by his disappearance. The air shifts around at my post, guess its time to head home... wait that's not Cragg. They must be outsiders, they are... I think... a tundra with a sunny scent and mirror with a breezy scent with a hint of shade. As the scent gets closer words echoes and light travels closer to my position.

"Pops! What kind of stuff do you think Ga-Lou-ers ruins have?" a loud feminine voice exclaims.

"Minerva, its 'jail·er' not whatever you said. Anyhoo, I can't imagine much of anything. See I heard that they don't keep hoards like me and you or any modern drake, I heard so from a Gaoler myself. We are only here for a look around not for any thievery ya hear." states a gruff voice.

A Gaoler? one that's outside the southern icefield? As I get up they enter the room. The tundra pause and stares at me wide-eyed, whilst the mirror looks extremely excited for whatever reason.

"Pops! Pops! It's a Gaoler!! And he's SO big! Where's his wings? and his tail is so short!" The mirror exclaims as she dashes and slides around me, tripping occasionally and climbing on top of my head.



"Minerva! Get down from there! I am extremely sorry for my compatriot's behavior. It's very unbecoming for some dragon her age. And if these ruins are protected, my friend and I can leave." he states as he apologizes and beckons for the mirror.

"No wait, I want to ask you something..." He looks over confused.

"Well, uh okay? What is it?"

"You met some Gaolers outside of the caverns right? Have you seen my brother? I haven't heard anything from him in a year. He uh... should look like me but lighter or was it whiter? Oh! but we do have similar horns." He gets a bit of a smirk.

"Ah, a case of a missing brother. I'm no detective, but I'm sure I've seen some drake like that." The mirror on my head pipes up.

"Ay! Is he ice like you? I mean I'm like 98% sure that he is, but it don't hurt to ask."

"Yes, he is. Oh, I don't know his name he neglected to tell me before he left." as we were talking the tundra writes it down.

"Goldish horns... lighter than... uh hold on a sec what's your name?" he asks.

"I'm Boulder." I answer back

"I'm Minerva! and Pops is Pops!' Stated Minerva.

"Well, actually it's Pug. And come on Boulder" He turns towards the exit. "we're losing daylight by sitting around here. Let's find that brother of yours."
