Alcyone was born on the night of the winter solstice at the darkest of hours. She was one of the many eggs left behind the fleeing and wild nocturnes who had taken flight on the night of the nocturne. Her small egg had once lied within the barren waste wand of the earth dragons. How she made it to the canopy of the shadows, no one can tell.

Now settled in her new home, Alcyone watches over the many nests and young hatchling within the dark cold caverns. Demeter, Alcyone's faithful thornthick thief stands by her side, often times bringing in abandoned eggs she find among the thorns outside the clans hold. The soft glow her shrooms and the kind words of Alcyone's melodies bring comfort to the young ones.

Together, the two watch over all the hatchlings with keen eyes within Clan Certo. The only time Alcyone ever leaves her post within the hatching ground of the lair is during the night of the nocturne. Leaving the lair, she takes flight with all the other nocturnes, providing guidance to those lost and giving homes to eggs abandoned. She calms the seas of nocturnes that fly over head.

Once the event has ended, Alcyone will rests within one of the nests located high above the others, this being her own personal nest. In that time Demeter watches over the young. But within two more weeks, Alcyone is able to once again able to watch over the hatchlings, all until next year...

The Kingfisher goddess. She nests every winter for two weeks, and while she does, the wild seas become calm and peaceful.
