______ Labyrinth was born into the clan of Klaeod the Crimson into the brood of AbioticCarnage. He was intensely curious about the world from the get-go, and accidentally made his way into Kyverok's lair as a hatching. Kyverok was still somewhat out of his mind at the time, and a haywire spell produced the red patterning across Labyrinth's scales. No harm was done, however, and it just made him more curious about magic once the fear was over. He studied magic under Zalaele for a time, and then under Kyverok. After his brother Varric's mate, Taloness, died, he took it upon himself to cheer him up, asking to learn what he could about Varric's engineering work. This breathed some life back into Varric, and taught Labyrinth a lot about engineering work.

______ Labyrinth eventually learned how to change what breed of dragon he was, and with joy he transformed himself into a pearlcatcher. He found that his manual dexterity increased, as did his magical affinity, although that may have just been because he found his sleep cycle matching Kyverok's better. Eventually, though, Varric's strange obsession with changing himself to something new frightened Labyrinth, and he eventually made the decision to leave his birth clan to find a new adventure. With promises to write often, he left, setting a course for the Viridian Labyrinth.
