The Noble Nocturne


Xerxes— a noble name for a noble dragon. This Nocturne comes from a long, prestigious line of nobles that can trace their heritage back to two distinct progenitors.

Of course, Xerxes would never, ever let this fact go to his head. No, not at all.

In truth, although he would not admit it, he often considers any dragon with less prestigious heritage to be beneath him. He hates to waste time dealing with “commoners” and prefers the company of dragons like him. This can make him a little unpleasant to be around if you can’t trace your lineage back to some important historical figure. Some people might consider him to be judgmental, but Xerxes was just raised a certain way.

When he isn’t being too picky for his own good, Xerxes spends much of his time overseeing his family’s trade business. Although he’s only a minor figure in the company, they run a large empire based on shipping and trade. Xerxes takes his position very seriously and loves to talk about it. If you get him started, he might not stop.

This prim and proper Nocturne doesn’t have a mate yet. With his winning personality, it’s no surprise. He might be beautiful on the outside, but he’s not easy to be around for long periods of time.

To be honest, Xerxes’ behavior is as much of a defense mechanism as it is anything else. He was raised to think that his family and others like them were superior. Although this attitude has left them without many friends in life, it’s all Xerxes knows. Perhaps one day his loneliness will get the best of him, and he will reach out to try and make new, genuine friends. Until then, he’ll have to be content with his rules and his contacts within the upper-class society.
