"For I may be forgotten but my legacy will remain."
UwUMeri had nothing against the centaur. Only that it started to attack her.
Unsheathing her claws, Meri was ready to defend herself. With a sly leap, she slashed the sword-wielding centaur, her claws raking on the centaur's body. The centaur reared up its hind legs, and was in the motion to kick Meri off balance. However, the traveler Meri was too quick. Swiping the enemy's weapon, the centaur was left with nothing to defend itself with. The two opponents now faced each other, Meri wielding the broadsword, and the centaur, staring blankly, swiftly admitted defeat by running back into the overgrown bushes and flowers. Meri dropped the sword, for she had no need for the weapon. And then she walked off, continuing scouting the area for her dear Clan Ranakula.
Meri was an established clan leader in this area of the Labyrinth. Her head held a bounty which would make even the most outlawed criminals jealous, and one known to young and old, villanous or not. Travelling semi-cautiously, it was her job to protect the clan from the dangers outside, for her claws were unmatched and her agility even more so. Her own little clan, founded from sweat and rubble with dedication from Meri and her beloved Glissade... the effort would not go to waste. Valliantly raising her head high, she would fufill her guard duties, one bounty hunter at a time.
Making her way back to the clan, she was greeted by friendly faces. Clan Ranakula, despite having a massive presence in the area, was still scrambling for loyal members. But as a result, the gathering of the Gladekeeper's misfits were as tightknit as ever. Glissade was always first to greet her, and while sometimes it wasn't verbal, just her heartfelt smile was more than enough to give Meri a sense of community. Mallorie, Lotus, and Markov, while still the three newest clanmembers, always wore their brightest grins and greetings. They were young, yet Meri saw gleams of hope in their bright eyes. Content with her work, she perched onto her small leaf nest adorned with white roses and other things she held dear, and shut her eyes.
Mallorie was the first to notice. Her shout of despair woke up the clan, and sent gallops of frightended dragons running in a mass hysteria. Meri's stance straightened, her eyes darted awake, and her claws unsheathed. Clan Ranakula was under attack! Striding with haste, her legs took her to where Markov, Mallorie, and Lotus were. Oh, all she had to do was to keep them safe. The intruders were looking for Meri's head, that's for sure, but she doubted they would avoid violence otherwise.
"Meri!" Lotus exclaimed, with her round eyes, reflecting the chaos. Markov exchanged a worried glance, while he kept a paranoid gaze onto one of the attackers. "Oh, Meri..." he mumbled, "these don't look to be Beastclan members. A small coal coloured Fae is all I can make out though." Meri, privately impressed, nodded her head. "Please stay here. I will see what the intruders want, and if there is any way we can stop the fighting".
Meri took a deep breath, and paced over to the dragon. Slowly the dragon stopped. Upon closer inspection, the Fae was exactly how Markov described. Meri opened her mouth. "Please stop this. Causing harm will not end well for you, or whichever clan you pledge alligence to."
"Meri... is that what name you possess? Haah... what a tragically lovely name. It is a tragdedy that you happen to have that lovely name, because very soon that name will not have an owner."
The Fae was tunnelvisioned onto Meri. She had long, branchy tendrils, her clothes were ragtag in grey and purple, and her claws were honed, ready for fighting. The dark Fae, filled with determination, slashed at Meri. Why were the Fae's eyes burning with hatred?
Every swipe Meri would throw would miss, and every swipe the Fae would hurt more than the last. Meri realized she could not win. But if she were to back out now, her clan was accountable for her actions while she fled, turning her back onto her community. Oh, tradgedy, for she was stuck in a losing battle. Her claws had found their match, as Meri fainted in pain.
The forest was a dark, dark place. Awake, she stumbled between the bushes and thorns. How long had she been asleep for? Unknown to Meri, she had been presumed dead and had been thrown out into no man's land. She could never return to her clan, for fear of the assasin tribe to come back. Some still say Meri is alive, and one day she will rise back to the top. Yet no attempt by Meri has been made. Her only hope is that her once thriving clan can attain the same glory as it did back then.

Clan Ranakula
Clan Ranakula
Clan Ranakula, founded by Meri and Glissade, is a clan located within the Shrieking Wilds. Many dragons who join the clan were aware of the power the clan held and wish to be a part of it. While the clan sees the mighty Gladekeeper and her rule as all-powerful, a sizable minority reign from a different elemental god. These odd dragons pledge alliance to Nature, yet the colour of their eyes serves as a reminder of their history.
The clan is small, but everyone has their own role. Many dragons specialize in fighting and either work as knights or adventurers, both slaying monsters with sharpened claws. Some dragons stay behind to care for the territory and look for resources to sell off in the nearby wilderness. And a small minority tend to the relations to other clans. Clan Ranakula can be entirely self-sustained, but trading with others can never be a bad thing.
Jealousy surrounding hunting rights heats up a surprising amount, but the sheer threat of being bombarded with warriors is enough to ward off attackers.

Glissade Glissade has been beside Meri since day one. Neither of them reign from Nature, but it proved to be more like home than their mother element. Together, they formed a clan to excel themselves and others. Meri is very fond of Glissade, and after her self-imposed banishment she misses Glissade more than the world. Rue Meri doesn't know it, but the rogue who knocked her out was called Rue. A Shadetouched dragon, afflicted when most of her clan grew under the Shade's control. With the Shade corrupting her, her last restort was to go all out; a suicide mission to disrupt the Pure. Markov Ever since Markov stumbled into Meri she saw the potenial in his eyes. A talented explorer he was, and with the right upbringing she knew he would be a heavy hitter among the clan. Her affinity for him, Mallorie, and Lotus flung the fateful battle in Rue's favour. Though, Meri seems to have hope they are doing well. |
