Talk about expensive tastes! Malta has always been a Coatl that wanted the best of the best out of everything. Ever since she was young, she's kept the books her Stag, Maple, read to her in pristine condition. Much of her behavior comes from her loving step-mother, Kakorrha. This female is combat ready from her step-father's training, but she much prefers to bring her opponents down with a solid argument than risk breaking one of her polished claws.
Malta helps calm her step-mother down when Kakorrha's OCPD spikes. Just the sight of her lets Kakorrha breathe and care for her step-daughter again. It's always been like that. Chiono adopted Malta to get Kakorrha's mind off of her cooking for a while, and in a sense, it worked. Kakorrha spends much of her time caring for Kakorrha, but even then, that sense of perfection was still left inside of her. Some of it drained into Malta, and through her love of books has come the love of quality on every page, content and aesthetic wise. It's wise not to let a single drop of water fall upon a book borrowed from her shelves unless you want to have a bad time.
Since Monado built her little library, Malta and Monado have been pretty good friends, if not business partners. Malta gives very useful criticism on his work, and in turn, Monado gives her discounts and drawing lessons on architecture.
