AVEN The Bodyguard Brother in Arms to Kared Familiar  DESCRIPTION Even though Aven is younger than some of the members of his group, he still treats all of them, with the exception of Kared and Ash, like younger siblings. He is quick with a joke, or a story, and also quick to jump to the defense for anyone in his care. He is Devin's mentor, something that Kared despairs of, Sayre's strongest supporter and Kared's sparring partner. His fondness for chess, withstanding, Aven is not the patient type, and gets restless if he has to sit through an explanation, something which drives Gahru nuts. He is certainly a jump first and maybe ask a question later, type. Still, he is very dependable, and extremely loyal to anyone that manages to earn it. |

Aven's home in the Blacksand Annex, was a busy place. There were always new littlings being born, nests tended to, and dragons coming and going. It was.. chaotic, and Aven thrived there. Despite that, every so often a hatchling would get adventurous and go exploring, and it soon became Aven's duty to bring them home. This evolved into him acting as a bodyguard when anyone from the clan needed to travel. Unfortunately, Aven soon grew slightly bored staying in one area all the time and decided that there were a lot of dragons travelling about, and sure some of them would need a bodyguard. Sadly, he did not check into exactly what his clients were doing. When one decided to raid a beastman lair, the resulting chase led Aven straight to Kared. Only once has Aven ever mentioned what happened the night he and Kared arrived, and true to form, Ash has never spoken a word about it. Instead, once he was healed, both he and Kared disappeared for over a week, before returning with two others, Sayre and Devin. Whatever happened, gave Aven a sense of duty to the pair, taking much of his free time to train Devin, and even once, going to pick flowers with Sayre, even if he denies it fiercely. Fortunately, Aven is content with the traveling that they do, it being just enough to, mostly, keep him out of trouble. It was Drennis and later Shenan and Gahru, that gave them an actual reason for the trips and adventures that they have. For all that he is brash and talkative, he still never speaks a word about his mystery excursions with Kared. |
