Azami

Azami is very impatient, and it's very easy to grate on the poor dragon's nerves. She is very prone to worrying about the little things, too- And, one of her greatest fears is being completely and utterly alone, like she had been in the past. She does not handle loss or betrayal well at all, and is extremely prone to lashing out to those who try to hurt those that she cares about.

While she isn't, necessarily, naive- she is easily tricked. Especially when it comes to the idea of being able to do something to protect those that she cares so deeply about.


_{Once upon a time, there was a little monster.}

The first thing that Azami knew was the darkness of the Shade. And, to be completely honest, for the longest time, that was all that she knew. And, while she remained in the shade, she couldn't feel much of anything-- At least, that was until the Shade was let back into the world by the Arcanist.

After the Shade was defeated once more, she was what was left behind-- A single consciousness that originated from the mass that was the land's greatest threat-- At first, she took on the form of a large, black snake- eyes red as blood, and scales as dark as the shade itself-- For the longest time, she simply existed with little to no idea what she was. With little to no idea why she even still existed here-

Desperately, she had tried to find others like herself-- But to no avail. Realizing that she was all alone, she began to travel farther from her 'home'. For the first time, she had experienced 'loneliness'.

The lonely creature traveled for a long time-- And, while she learned many things, she learned nothing about herself. Surely the answers I seek must exist somewhere in this world? she would ask herself. Believing this, she continued traveling in search of the answers to her questions--

And then, one day, the creature had come across beings that she had never seen before-- Mysterious creatures called "dragons." These dragons knew many different things, and had many different personalities-- It was like nothing that the creature had ever seen before! Surely these dragon creatures know who and what I am! The creature thought to herself, her heart filling with anticipation as she approached them. However, the dragons had nothing to teach the creature but pain, despair, and fear.

The dragons feared and shunned her-- Several spells were cast towards the creature, and those who were not as magically capable attacked her directly-- The creature was attacked by the dragons, as they tried to kill her with everything that they had. Why did she have to endure such torment? Why were they so cruel to her? She cried ut in pain each time she was injured by the dragons until, finally, she fought back. She had several different feelings towards the dragons- many of them were negative and fearful.

Those feelings slowly oozed from the creature's heart, as if to protect her-- The creature's form was changed to that of a black and red dragon, that appeared similarly to several of the dragons that had been attacking her-- The form of what she would soon learn to be called an "Imperial" dragon.

During her transformation, she gained many new powers.. Which she used to slaughter the dragons that had attacked her. After taking the dragon's lives, however, the creature wept. She felt bad for the crime that she had committed. She wept for several days-- Almost like a child would cry.

How long had she been crying? As her tears finally dried up, nothing remained of the creature's desire to learn more of herself. She thought back to the life that she had once lived... And wished that she had never come to this world. Things would have been so much easier if she had stayed in the Shade-- She would not have to feel these feelings of pain and loneliness that she now felt. And, thus, the creature began travelling again-- This time looking for a place where she could be alone.

Eventually, she came to a small clearing in a very small forest, where she would stay for quite a while. The creature would stay here for a very long time, no one daring to disturb her-- Until, one day, a very small dragon had found her. A Fae, who introduced herself as Catrinna. Unknowing of her origins, the Fae asked her why she was alone. The creature answered her very slowly, telling her that she was dangerous- And that she had hurt many other dragons.

There was a moment of hesitation there, as the Fae sat quietly... staring at the creature. Until, finally, she spoke up again. "If you're so dangerous, then you would have attacked me." She stated, carefully flying over and landing on the creature's scaly nose. "And you are obviously lonely... I would like to invite you to live with me, in my clan. We will keep you safe, and you will not be alone," the Fae explained, frills moving just the slightest bit.

Azami was silent for a moment... Before carefully nodding. And, due to this agreement, Azami was welcomed into a Clan as a dragon- and not as a creature that was a part of the Shade. Due to their warm welcome to her, she dedicates herself to keeping these dragons safe, and will use her different, strange, powers to protect them with her life.
