诞生自雪山之中、隐退杀手和黑暗女巫的第二个孩子，却有着和父母双方都不同的温和性格。
幼时被父亲带离母亲身边，父子在寒冷的北方荒原相依为命。
长久地向往父亲口中温暖的南方，虽然最后定居的地方是中心大陆的北部，但他已经很满足了。

与父亲一起到翎火公爵麾下后，拜骑士长幻云为师。但父亲对骑士的战斗方式并不满意，因此还教了他许多狠辣的战技。
而这两种教导的并行使得他一方面像他的老师一样谦逊有礼、品行端正，有一身骑士技艺；另一方面也像父亲一样执拗，精通刺客的手段。
成年不久后被来翎火公国访问的教皇钦点为守夜骑士，保卫“太阳之子”的安全；实则是要监视后者的行动。
因为天资优秀和忠于职守，他很快就成为了能够在距离圣子寝宫只有一步之遥的地方履行职责的骑士长，但却在和圣子的长期接触和互相陪伴后产生了不该有的情感。

胆子大的时候也会趁着夜色偷偷带圣子回家去，为挑食的爱人收集蝴蝶翅膀的事情不知为何让父亲非常生气。

守夜骑士的本性是温柔而怯懦的，不善言说却可以为了心爱之人做尽一切力所能及之事。
上刀山下火海也不会犹豫，只会担心对方没了自己会伤心寂寞。
