Ignimbrite
Fantastic Shadow | Stoker

Firebrand

A fiercely loyal dragon with a short temper and a combative streak, Ignimbrite has no problems challenging dragons bigger and more skilled than herself. She refuses to let anyone speak badly about other members of the airship crew in her ear shot and has had to be carted away by Mab from a deeply onesided fight more than once.

As both a metaphorical and literal firebrand, Ignimbrite creates the steam that powers the airship. Luckily, this keeps her out of the way of the guests since she has a running feud with most of Autumn's fan base.

She's not particularly friendly with anyone outside the airship crew, whom she considers family. She was friends with Aurorae but since his illness they have drifted apart since her work keeps her close to the airship and he doesn't go out visiting often. However, Ignimbrite doesn't consider this a great loss as she enjoys spending her time helping Vulx on his latest projects where her flame can come in handy

Born in the Ashfall Wastes, Ignimbrite could have had quite a fruitful life there with a strong mentor and the proper attention. Instead, with both her parents gone to fight the shade, Ignimbrite was left to find her own way and her fiery temper and willingness to solve conflict through the most direct of actions soon saw her making enemies of much larger dragons. Time and time she was run out, or left the clans she attempted to settle down with, dissatisfied with her lot.

It was through chance that she came to the woods. She caught sight of one of of Autumn's flight demonstrations during the Flameforger's Festival and after speaking with the skydancer became enthralled with his talk of an airship a friend of his was developing. So at the end of the festival, Ignimbrite came to the woods with Autumn and soon found herself a highly welcome member of the airship crew as her ability to produce flame solved some significant engineering challenges. For her part, Ignimbrite quite liked the two she had just met, and found the rest of the clan palpable enough to settle down.

Having no reason to spend the majority of her time anywhere but the vicinity of the Fantastic Shadow, when The Hunger broke out, Ignimbrite was stoking the boiler as soon as Autumn gave the call to make ready. She saw little of the horrors of that day, but the deafening tortured sounds that found their way, distorted and hollow into the depths of the ship where she worked still haunts her dreams.

The entire crew of the Fantastic Shadow as honored for their part in the evacuation efforts, but while Ignimbrite appreciated the gesture, it certainly didn't lead to her making any friends. If anything, she's become more protective of the crew since then, perhaps realizing after Mab's injury, how tenuous and fleeting their connections can be.
