Athame. That was the name her sires had given her, the day she hatched. She had clawed out of her egg and become apart of her hunting pack, a life of savagery and hunger, never knowing any different. She had been a mirror, through and through, relishing in the pounding of her clawed feet on the earth and the thrill of taking down prey twice her size.

She was hadly perfect however, even as a mirror. She was reckless and easily irritated, disliking being ordered by her superiors. This ended up getting her into trouble, more often than not, and earned her more than her fair share of scolding and sometimes the ocasional nip. Still, she shrugged them all off like a dog would water, and would continue to lose herself in the sensation of hunting and pack.

There came a day, however, when she found herself injured and seperated from her pack. Irritated by her own shortcomings but nevertheless left with little choice, Athame was taken in by a company of dragons, who helped patch her up. It was with this company that she first met Abrastil, who she instantly loathed. He was a tiny dragon who insisted on flitting about her head, making conversation when she clearly did not want to speak, or singing some windy folksongs. He was annoying, and she hated him.

Until she didn't. Until she found herself smiling back, laughing softly at his jokes and listening to his stories. Telling stories of her own. She had fallen hard, and she hadn't even realized if until she had hit the earth with a resounding crash. The realization made her blink stars out of her vision, and she had been terrified.

Athame had a duty to her pack. She did not - should not- want to stay with this flighty dragon. And so, when her injuries healed, Athame left without a word in the middle of the night, returning to her pack.

The next few months were dull and bland. Athame found she no longer enjoyed hunting or the incessant hunger gnawing at her bones that drove her to- could not stand the male mirrors, who had begun posturing in an attempt to win her heart. Feeling trapped with no way out, Athame found hope in stories that she heard while the pack was in the Viridian Labryinth- that of the Gladekeeper.

It was said, it was said, it was said... So many stories, so little plausible. But Athame had always been nothing but determined. The Behemoth, where the Gladekeeper was said to dwell. If she were to travel there, would she find her answers? Would she know peace? She didn't know, but Athame would try.

The journey was anything but easy. Mirrors generally had an unsavoury reputation, and more than once she had to defend herself against prejudice or suspicion. The Viridian Labryinth was hardly the best place to go hunting, especially when she wanted to appeal to the nature deity, so Athame had to fast, living off water and fruits alone. It was torturous work, what with her metabolism, but surprisingly enough it helped clear her head. Slowly but surely, she found her peace.

Eventually she got to the Behemoth, and there she had stopped to pray. What happened remains untold, but suffice to say, that when Athame left the Viridian Labryinth it was as a fae, with scales the color of tree bark and wings like two verdant leaves. She had found herself, and now she was going to help others.

She apprenticed to several older dragons, worked long and hard, and when she became a Healer at long last, donned a crown of simple daisies to remind herself to keep humble. Athame the Nature Healer, the one with the healing touch. She was loved and cherished by her community.

But Athame had not forgotten the sky blue fae with green silks, even if she was sure he no longer remembered her. Still, when news came of a wind clan leader wasting away from sorrow, of a wind touched fae who found himself devoid of the will to try and fly, Athame had drawn herself up and told the others she was to leave.
