I have seen what I can't know.


There is a monster in the woods. It is not malicious; it is simply that it does not care. It hunts only rarely, and does not discriminate between animal, beastclan, or dragon. It is lame in one leg, gored by an elk at some point in the past, and yet it drags itself forward anyway. Its eyes are void of thought or emotion; if it did not still breathe and still bleed, it would certainly be called dead.

Clan Goldwood does not discuss the monster in their territory. They make no attempt to drive it away, or to interact with it at all. There are the rumors, of course. That the monster was once a whole dragon, and that it once held a prominent role in the clan. But the leaders refuse to comment on the rumors, so perhaps we will never know.

But the monster does look awfully like Mizar, doesn't it?
