Former Magician | Toymaker

A faded, weathered poster flutters against the wall as a gust of wind catches it. There’s an old picture on it, of a dragon dressed up in a sparkling vest. She’s holding a magic wand in one clawed paw, and a top hat full of flowers in the other. Beside her is an incredibly tiny fae, who appears to be wearing a matching outfit. Once-colorful text at the top of the poster names the duo as “Mirabelle the Magician, and her handsome assistant, Summerstone.”

For Mirabelle, that’s all in the past. She was an artist once, an entertainer. She brought smiles to the faces of her fellow dragons with impressive acts of illusion. She was never happier than when she was standing on stage. The sound of applause was all she needed.

Sadly, it couldn’t last forever. Mirabelle was content to make children smile. Summerstone wanted bigger things. He wanted to be famous and rich. In the end, they just couldn’t agree on what they wanted anymore. The duo split up, and Mirabelle left behind the life of an artist for something more quiet.

Now, Mira leads a private life. She keeps a small shop of her own where she makes all sorts of wonderful little toys and gadgets. This has made her incredibly popular among the hatchlings in her clan. Her skills as a magician translated well to the toymaking business. She makes small, animatronic toys that do different tricks to delight young dragons. It might not be the most glamorous calling, but she enjoys it nonetheless.
