Mage-in-Training
It’s not easy living up to expectations. Cinderella knows this all too well. From the moment she was hatched, this coatl’s parents expected her to do great things.
According to them, she was born with greatness in her blood as she comes from a long, long line of powerful arcane mages. As a hatchling, her mother told her stories of all the great deeds her ancestors accomplished. They stopped time, controlled the very elements themselves, and learned to shape-shift into all sorts of great beasts. It stood to reason that Cinderella would turn out just as powerful as those who came before her. Sadly, that wasn’t quite the case. The heavy expectations that her parents gave her were too big a burden for Cinderella to bear. As a result, she was a quiet, withdrawn child who hardly spoke a single word. She preferred to stay in her room, away from everyone else. Her parents tried to teach her. Her mother, Kristy, did her best to pass on all her magical knowledge to her daughter, but it was hopeless. As soon as she figured out how to cast one spell, Cinderella would forget another. She had trouble keeping her lessons straight, and would often make mistakes when working her magic. While trying to turn a stone into a frog, it would become a puddle of water or a lily pad instead. She just didn’t have the power or the skills that her mother and grandmothers before her wielded. Ashamed of her failure, this coatl just couldn’t face her parents anymore. She packed up her belongings and left her home to search for a new mentor. Eventually, she encountered a new clan. The members of the mages’ guild recognized the potential for power within her, and decided to take Cinderella on as an apprentice. She never told them who her parents were, and now she studies under the more accomplished mages in her clan. Without the high expectations that her family set for her, she finds it much easier to focus. Perhaps someday she’ll be able to return to her family as a great mage. Until then, she’ll just continue to work as hard as she can.

Lair Review By Tues
Oh my gosh, can I hug this dragon? Please? She’s so precious, and after reading her bio, I really sympathize with her. Heavy expectations do no good most of the time, and I’m really glad her lore includes her escaping those expectations to learn from someone else, someone more patient.
Lore aside, I am amazed with those colors because I looked at her parents and they have a decently wide range. To get an XXY is a pretty damn nifty score, especially when she’s this pretty (and has matching eyes). Her flower petals make a nice touch, too. It makes her seem very sweet and gentle, if you ask me. She’s a Coatl I could be friends with.
