Biography
Random arena longneck: You lookin' for trouble?
Glwysed (grinning): Yeah.

Council: Chief of Strategy
Derwyn

From her vantage point perched on Tareya's antler, Glywsed spotted the start of the second portal immediately.
"Ur--should we, uh---" began Juchu, with a preoccupied look on his face.
"Nonsense! Get in there!" Glwysed shouted. "Yip yip!"
"Careful there!" Tareya laughed. "Someone might mistake you for a goatherd!" The imperial picked up a quick trot, then beat her wings once, twice, then into the air.
"No shame in it. That's what Marzia does now, isn't it?" Glwysed leapt off Tareya and circled the air above the portal.
Lightning struck in the distance, lighting up the cobblestones below for an instant. Something with tentacles slithered wetly over the stray boulders.
"I'm spotting tentacles," Glwysed said. "Bets?"
"One of those eye thingies again," Tareya offered.
Juchu caught up with them. "Should I even place a bet? Last time you two cleaned me out."
Glwysed swatted him on the wingtip and shouted, "That's quitter talk! Okay--all you have to do is not bet on an octoflyer again--" The wind was picking up. Lightning struck again, illuminating red and yellow masses emerging from the portal.
"Oh, it's one of these things again!" Tareya said, delighted. "Can I keep one? I hate killing them."
"I don't understand you people," Juchu sighed.
"If you can catch it--" Glwysed dived, and shouted over her shoulder-- "You can keep it!"
A few unpleasantly squelchy moments later, and Tareya huffed. "Damn--I squashed it."
"Can't keep it if it's flat," Glwysed said immediately. "House rules."
Was it just the light from the portal, or was Juchu looking a bit green? Glwysed squinted. No, he was definitely paler.
Juchu yanked off his mask. Was he--Yes, he was definitely throwing up.
"Kids these days," said Tareya.
"I don't know how he thinks he's going to get posted with Theyrngar. If he's barfing at a couple of squashed pupowls--"
"He's definitely too delicate for below-seas," Tareya finished.
Glwysed glanced at the still-lit portal, then looked again. It was definitely still lit. And there were--shapes, moving...
"Heads-up, incoming party!" Glwysed shouted at Juchu, who was wandering off.
"Getting something to drink!" he shouted back, sounding strained.
"Makes me miss Tje," Glwysed sighed. "She'd never--"
An blast from the portal bowled both fighters over. First the gauntlet emerged, wreathed in flame, then the rest of the massive monster.
"FROG ALERT!" Tareya screamed.
The first wide swipe from the frog caught Tareya's foreleg, bringing her to the ground. Glwysed leapt into the skies, flanking the frog while it advanced on Tareya struggling up.
She gave it a few good kicks, but it didn't do much. Tje was well out of range down in the markets, and Ember was out doing housecalls until late. No, backup was out, unless...
Tareya was up, hunkered low to the ground, ready for the next blow. The frog bunched itself up, readying, and jumped, punching wildly with its gauntlet. Tareya dodged adroitly. She slashed at it, and got a good slice in on its off arm.
Glwysed plunged in, flapping quickly to stick the landing on the creature's back, and kicked rapid-fire at whatever she could reach, giving Tareya the opportunity to take off, buffeting the frog back.
"JUCHU!" Glwysed bellowed, clinging for dear life. Tareya circled overhead, unable to dive in with Glwysed on the back of the beast.
"WHAT DO I DO?!" Juchu shouted back, pathetically soggy. He must have found a creek.
"BUM-RUSH IT! DO I LOOK LIKE I CARE WHAT YOU DO?!" Glwysed shouted, scrabbling up the frog.
Juchu roared.
Well, he was good at that, Glwysed noted.
He charged, and Glwysed let go of the frog. He slammed into it with a sound like someone slapping a tuna. It staggered back, croaking frogly.
Tareya finally dived, landing her full weight on the frog. She was a good deal bigger than it, when all was said and done, and--
"OH, EASE OFF--" Glwysed yelled.
It was too late. The frog was flat.
"Oh, I wanted that for the bestiary..." said Glwysed, trotting over to the flattened frog.
Tareya peeled her claws off the corpse of the frog. "You can have the gauntlet," she offered.
"I'll have to excavate it."
"Frog for dinner tonight!"
"I shall die, I think..." Juchu said dizzily. Then: "No--it's passing." He cleared his throat.
"There's my fine warrior!" Glwysed jumped up and gave him a clawless smack on the shoulder. "Now pack up this frog, we've got a banquet tomorrow and two hundred dignitaries to offend!"
Glwysed (grinning): Yeah.
Glwysed
Council: Chief of Strategy
|
Glwysed is a name well-known in the nature clans surrounding her homeland. She led a clan of fighters principally devoted to pushing back Plague forces, setting the Boneyard ablaze to increase its fertility, and countering the "Plague cultural influence," whatever that means. These tactics drew attention to her clan, and a specially designed virus sent from the Wyrmwound itself wiped out most of the area's Wildclaws. She discovered an agent carrying contaminated supplies to be sent as a "donation for the relief effort," and a brutal battle ensued. The mirror carrying the supplies was killed, and Glwysed herself was saved only by Kilararen, Danno, and Kirwithal, who were traveling in the area in search of a clan representative for Nature. Her strategies are belligerent, brutal, and bloody. She specializes in traditional Wildclaw fighting, which features fast double kicks and can often throw larger dragons or creatures to their sides, where they are easily jumped on. As they commonly fight together, she has a strong friendship with Ember and Tareya. |
