Ember used to think that life was all about preservation, and perseverance--surviving until the end, so to say. Now, she views life as something as fragile, and something--something that can be taken. And when dragons started to disappear, Ember--poor, sweet Ember--was the one who her clan turned to. After all, she was well known for her clever deceptions. However, as clever she may be, her heart was still pure and innocent, with almost no knowledge of any horrid deeds--her sister made sure she did not experience any more horrors. A sister, caring for Ember. All that she wanted. But who accused her of the disappearance? Frigidum, her other sister, the sister that died and came back. The sister that hated her.

Ember used to be happy. She used to be without a worry in the world, with a caring sister--two caring sisters--and a warm clan in which she loved. That, was before. Now, it is after. She is a blind murderer, accused of killing hundreds of dragons who had come to stay at the clan's supposedly safe interiors. Now, those interiors are haunted with a assassin--by the name of Ember. Though most dragons just call her Death, or in rare cases, Omen. Omen, which is her Clouddancer-turned-Death Seeker's name. Omen, the omen of death, the omen that nothing will ever be the same.

She was the only dragon not taken by the clan who had enslaved them. She was the only sister who had escaped: Katrina, captured. Frigidum, killed. She was always considered the pampered one, but she made sure that kind of assumption was never put on her. She took newcomers for a taste in the coliseum, and guided the dragons to the Flamecaller, who she faithfully served. However the reputation of being able to fly through the coliseum gave her the role of "trainer," and this role would end her. She spent days on end in the coliseum, training, training, training. Then, a dragon--from another clan, of course--came to visit, disappeared. This mysterious disappearance was immediately placed on her. Her, the trainer, her, the now murderer. And who blamed her? Frigidum, her very own sister. The one who "loved" her. Or, as she thought. She, the innocent Pearlcatcher didn't know, there was a dark side to everything. She, as a naive, young dragon, didn't even know there was a dark side in her, and during the dead of night, that side, always came out. Nobody knew, nobody knew. But her sister.
