The Lost King

Cres' former colony had a culture of sharing and providing for everybody - so one would think that a king is unneeded. Perhaps the title of 'King' is misleading, because he was not born into the title, nor did he take it by force. Cresento was said to have been born under the Gladekeeper's lucky star and imbued with her power. Where he walks, flowers grow in his footprints. The fields surrounding his former castle produce large flowers, and brightly colored and extremely sweet fruit. All the trees within the colony are more resistant to disease and grow with great speed. With his immense power, it is not surprising that a clan formed around him naturally.

While traveling with his brother, Gideon they stumbled upon a ruined castle, where two old guardians were resting. The female leapt to her feet and claimed to had read of the pair's arrival in the clouds. The male bowed deeply, placed his sword at Cresento's feet and swore to protect him. The two guardians introduced themselves as Hazarika and Jeremiah, and they were in awe at the plant life that followed in Crecento's wake. Their devotion was both humbling and confusing, but at their insistence he agreed to stay with them in the castle for a short while. It wasn't long until news of the lush plant life began to spread and others began to join them. This marked the beginning of the Fallow Sky Colony. When his new clanmates began referring to him as king, it was a title he took with great seriousness and honor.

When he was still young, and their clan still in need of protection and allies, Cresento married Chai as symbol of treaty between two clans, and has had with her a single son - Faustus. Faustus has so far not shown any of the magical abilities as his father - which has caused some unease around the clan. But Cresento doted on his son, and believed that he could rule wisely, even if he didn't have the same innate connection with nature. While Cresento and Chai's relationship was amiable, it is no secret his heart truly belonged to his second wife - Ahria. When not bound by the duty of his court, he spent much of his day with her, relaxing on the edge of the great lake, listening to her recite poetry, or nestled in each other's arms.

Cresento noticed a change in his brother. Gideon always had an abrupt personality, but as the power he held increased, he became more vulgar and started to steal and cheat. While Cresento hoped this was just a phase, in his heart he believed Gideon's behavior was only going to get worse.

He didn't have much time to be concerned.

While trailing his brother from the castle, Cres ran into a bit of trouble with a snappish coatl and a snarky pearlcatcher. The two were intrigued by his title of "King" and (though he didn't know it yet) made it a personal mission to abduct and ransom the important-sounding imperial. In the dark of night, the two attacked and dragged Cresento from his home, far across Nature territory.

He found himself in a camp of dragons from all across the globe being forced into black-market servitude for Nature's inhabitants. Though his situation isn't as bright as it used to be, Cres isn't one to lie down and accept his fate. As a nature dragon himself, he doesn't mind working helping out his own Flight. But Cres is no servant. With the appearance of his lover and hieromancer, Ahria, the two are ready to set things straight in this clan.
