Born on an auspicious day, when the waters rose and the moon shone during the day, Joyous' unusual markings and quick development were interpreted as a sign of the Tidelord's favor. Being the only egg in his clutch and the most favored heir to the leadership of the clan, naturally one would expect Joyous to be under heavy guard, or at least coddled and sheltered. However, this is not the case. Since the Clan of Roaring Waters prides itself on worship of the Eleven through service and elimination of the Shade, Joyous has seen action in the Coliseum, just like the rest of the clan. Joyous has also been personally mentored by Thistlepuff himself, who taught him history, magic theory, battle tactics, diplomacy, everything that Joyous would need to know should he become the new leader of the Clan of Roaring Waters - though his parents don't seem to be stepping down anytime soon...

Joyous is most often seen with his closest friends/cronies Shadowblaze and Leviathan, two dragons who hatched from orphaned eggs and joined the clan on the same day Joyous was hatched. What the three of them do together is anyone's guess.

Mate to: Fiera. He and Binurs used to compete for Fiera's hand, though of course Joyous won.

Job/role: Diplomat for the Clan of Roaring Waters. He is also being trained as a successor to his mother, the clan leader.

Water foresight: All Water dragons have the gift of foresight from the Tidelord, though the gift expresses itself differently in each dragon. Joyous' gift manifests as dreams and visions of the future. Because of his auspicious birth and heritage, they are less obscure than the average seer's omen. They are always accurate, though the amount of information they carry varies, and it is unknown how far off in the future they are. Lately Joyous has been practicing with his powers, and can now summon the visions at will.
