⚔ Errant the Warden ⚔
◄§► Kind | Passionate | Protective There is magic in art. Sometimes, there is so much magic and emotion and life poured into paint that it peels itself off the cave wall and joins the world. Errant wandered out of the cave he was painted in, some of his original mural still wet on his wings, much to the surpise of his new clanmates. They welcomed him with open arms despite the unexpectedness of his arrival, greeting the new life he represented with joy and celebration. Upon examination of the patch of wall that Errant's paint used to cling to, a strange polychromatic egg was discovered in a hollow, glinting in the light like diamond and shimmering like a pearl. The clan mages announced that there was neither magic nor hatchling in the egg, although there clearly had been something more to it, for it was clearly the cause of Errant's birth. His eyes hold the remnants of whatever arcane magics had spent themselves to bring the art off the wall. Errant quickly proved himself to be both a strong fighter and an apt storyteller - spinning tales of his battles into riveting epics, providing many enjoyable hours for hatchlings and adults alike. He was soon regarded as the clan's storyteller, often called on at night to tell this tale or that to sooth dragons after a long day's work. Most of the hatchlings learned the world's history sitting clustered before his claws. While he loved teaching and entertaining, Errant considered it his calling to guard his clan's borders at night, warding off anything harmful that might lurk in the dark. He claimed the title Warden with great pride, taking on several apprentices who wished to follow in his footsteps. For art does not always exist to provide joy or evoke sorrow - sometimes it stands guardian in a place of honor, ensuring that no one that sees it does not feel comfort knowing that it is there. |
