He has seen too much for a dragon his age. Riots, assassinations, war. To speak of it is one thing; to live it is another.

The nightmares do not stop. The ones with Catcher in it are always the worst.

Elliot is a big help, of course, for on nights when he wakes with a claw pressed to his mouth to keep from screaming, the pearlcatcher is often at his side at once, snuggling close and murmuring reassurances.

(He won't tell a soul, but he finds himself tripping over words when he talks to Elliot, and sometimes catches himself staring.)

Here's to hoping he will sort his feelings out one day.

For now, he has a clan to help take care of. The position of Lord Commander is not an easy one, and he understands better than most that a responsibility like this means he can hardly ever rest properly.

He is sound of mind and kind of heart, but the peace he seeks has yet to be found.
