"Dana, my dear? How are you feeling, does your head still hurt?"
"F-Fine, Medine... I do keep having those dreams again, though... I can't seem to shake free of them..."
Ever since I arrived in this forest of star-trees, I've been having strange dreams, stranger than the mess of personalities I've met in this clan. Dreams of something white and cold, although I don't think I'm from the icy wastes to the south. My eyes swirl with the night, and I'm sure of that, so sure, but it doesn't seem to match the cold breath in my chest, and I have faint memories of blinding white mornings, and silent, cold nights.
My wings are still broken, and I yearn to know how they came to break. My memories are cloudy, as if stuck in a snowstorm, and I can't recall who I knew before now, before I stumbled into the star-tree forest with blood soaking my feathers. A wildclaw, perhaps, with wings of shimmering violet, and she's the most familiar thought of mine. Was she a friend, perhaps? A parent? I don't know anymore, this blinding white headache makes it hard to know much.
I sit amongst piles of old fabric, dozing most days, and when one of the others in this clan comes to speak to me, I keep my eyes shut to stop the light faltering. This headache is all I ever feel anymore, not even my wings hurt as much as this, and the darkness is cosy enough.
I do yearn to feel the cold again, though...
Maybe one day I should travel out alone, back to the familiarity I've never felt before.
