Koi was a rookie engineer back when the previous king was in power. When the new heir, Prince, came to power, Koi was one of the few dragons who remained loyal to his leader. As the only engineer remaining as well as being very skilled in the area, Koi was promoted to the manager of engineering where he could continue working on new technology, stones and battle items for the clan. He's one of the elder dragons in the clan however not wildly respected due to his bashful and timid nature which prevents him from fighting back. He gained the nickname 'Fishboy' from the youngsters in the clan however after time it was shortened to fish - he doesn't mind since he was named after a fish anyway. When Silken joined the clan, Koi became attached to him due to their shared markings and eye colour. To this day, Silken and Koi have a bond much like brothers and they share and do everything together. Their practically inseparable bond means they instinctively know when the other is in trouble or feeling down so they often protect each other as well. Koi is protective over Silken and likes to mollycoddle and spoil him constantly which Silken seems to enjoy?
