Lore: Van de Graff Generators are dragons who actually create electricity in mass amounts depending on their size. Smaller breeds like Faes would be used as party tricks to make a dragons scales, feathers, or mane stand on end. These dragons are quite popular amongst hatchlings and younger dragons who freak out upon touching them much to the amusement of older dragons. Slightly bigger breeds like Coatls would be used for more studying of static charges and generate a higher voltage than small breeds. These dragons help scientists make cutting edge discoveries about static electricity, which makes Stormcatcher happy. The biggest breeds like Imperials would be used to generate massive voltage and while generating electricity will produce enough volts to kill most breeds. Faes have been banned from getting anywhere near these larger dragons until further notice.
