Biography

Poisoned Spirit Dragon

From Japanese which means 龍 (Ryuu)"Dragon" and 二(ji)"two". Ryuuji(龍二) means "Two Dragon."]

*Bio written by Deathwolf555*

It was only a flicker of a shadow that the centaur noticed before claws came down upon him and forced his soul to leave the body he inhabited. For the nameless dragon, it was another victory against the shade that plagued the land. He rummaged through the centaur’s bag, claiming it’s contents as his own and casting the body aside for some other scavenger to claim. The food he had collected would satisfy him for today….Tomorrow was another story.

From the moment his eyes opened, newly out of the egg, this dragon had been alone. Getting out of the egg was the easy part. He was a strong hatchling, but now he’d have to fight like he were a runt, trying to get take his sibling’s place for nourishment. Clutching a piece of eggshell to his body, he traveled on, using it as shelter until his body outgrew him. The dragon still kept the piece as he grew, perhaps a clan would recognize it as their own, and accept him as a long lost son, even though the possibility was highly unlikely. It was a dream he thought about long into the hours of the night, when the moon was full and his fire was starting to smolder. The dragon traveled from flight to flight, showing the piece to a few clans who pointed him in the direction of the Shifting Expanse. An older dragon did take a closer look, and noticed the abnormal indents upon the shell. It was his guess that a Talonok took his egg from the nest, or some other beast did. A dragon very well could have.

With this newfound knowledge, he made his way to the Lightning flight, asking the clans he came across for help, if not a little food or shelter. Most dragon sent him on his way with a growl on their face. Others humored him and were a bit more hospitable. On his way, a fae joined his travels. Sweet and fair was she, the two quickly became inseparable friends on a journey to find this dragon’s family. In return for this, he’d go sailing with her one day, building a ship to transport large proportions of cargo that couriers simply couldn’t.

These friendly travels would not last long, as the pair went farther into hostile territory, away from the Shifting Expanse once their exploration there provided no help. The moonless night held unseen assailants who tore at his flesh as he desperately tried to defend his friend, only to watch her get torn apart. Her death awoke a flame within him, a rage that could not be ceased. The earth shook from his roar as violent, unstable sparks flew from his mouth. It wasn’t until dawn when he stopped shaking their bodies in his jaw, resembling a hainu with a toy. His mouth foamed and eyes watered. He buried her by a nearby river, so that her spirit could sail on like she always wanted.

And so this nameless dragon let his heart be hardened, learning all he could about the beastclans, and the Shade that controlled most of them. He took up a new goal: exterminate those shade touched and free the pure remains of their soul from a tortured life. He wished it could be a path his friend was proud of, but knowing the fact she loved those beasts she could consider friends, probably not. Words soon spread of this phantom dragon, some said his skin was so taut that you could see the bone and organs underneath. Others said he was an Emperor, or one driven mad by a plague from the Wyrmwound. Either way, most beasts knew to avoid him. Others chose to seek the challenge head on, and those fell quickly. These many battles chipped his eggshell piece by piece, so that only a portion of the original remained. Still, he carried it with him as he traveled around, putting an end to various beastclan raids and terrors.

He did not submit to other dragons, although a run in with a Midnight guardian had him wishing he had considered it. Busy in a scrawl with him after a lustful killing on a full moon, the night dark and air smelling of copper, He did not notice the skydancer come up behind him. He did not notice his limbs become heavy until they could not move. He could not struggle, only lay there, gaping up at a skydancer similar to him. He was paralysed. The dragon waited for the killing blow that never came. Instead, she gently allowed a bit of liquid to drift down his throat, and force his eyelids to close.

The Dragon awoke to a den with warm blankets and a fire crackling near. His wounds from the centaurs were dressed and healing. A Golden Coatl alerted a smaller guardian, whom slowly made his way over. His head dressed in a birdskull, with blood red feathers poking from behind it. He sat a distance away, respecting the dragon’s privacy. Slowly, he spoke:
“I’ve heard you’ve caused a bit of trouble for Kairo during his explorations, young one…” The guardian spoke calmly and with a gentle tone, not threatening him in any manner. It confused the Skydancer greatly. Unable to find his voice, he simply stared at the guardian.
“Yes...Did you mean to?”
The Skydancer didn’t know how to answer.
“Well….do you have a clan? Was this an act of war?”. The Skydancer growled.
“Only with the beastclans, ‘Kairo’ or whoever got in the way….”
“He said he found you beating a long dead horse…..Do you seek revenge?”
“Why does it matter, old man?” He spat towards him, expecting the guardian to leap to life and rip him to shreds. He sat there still with no ill intention.
“Perhaps not…” The Guardian murmured. “I am Balaur. If you’d like, could you tell me your name?”
“....”
“Do you have one?”. Balaur got a head shake in response. “I see. I’ll tell you what….Ryuu has been asking about you since you got here. Why don’t you heal up a bit, explore the clan, and see if you’d like staying? You’re no use out there, throwing around bodies like no tomorrow. And maybe… just maybe...you’ll enjoy it…”.

With pride, Balaur dubbed him Ryuuji, and accepted him into the clan that Ryuuji began to love, once his injuries healed. He allowed Kairo and Ryuu to show him around, since they were the two that found him. Ryuuji and Ryuu became closer to each other, to the delight of Balaur and Kori, and annoyance of Chernobyl. As time went on, he let go of his grudge against the beastclans, knowing it was not their fault that they did the things they did. He even adopted a familiar of his own, an Ethereal Trickster whom kept taking food from the Fuseina Kage clan’s hoard. Ryuuji hasn’t told anyone his full history, and not even his mate’s gentle proddings could make him speak. Balaur suggested that he might want to keep his past a secret, and for the younger hatchlings to stop pestering him. Still, during the nights, when the dawn is approaching and the fires smoldering, he thinks about telling her, or Balaur, or anyone, of where he came from. But it's these thoughts he keeps to himself, and perhaps one day he’ll tell them, but right now, he was comfortable and content for the first time in his life. His past was one for another day…
