The hiss of steam was the first thing TU-18702033 (that's not your name) registered. The next thing it (no that's not right either...)

The next thing she registered was the feeling of her talons (good) on a smooth steel floor. Activating her optics (no. you opened your eyes.) revealed a dull, rusted room.

She didn't like the room (you were born, reborn, here.)

She closed her eyes (that's right.)

She saw flashes of things (memories), half-remembered from a past life (do you remember?)

Dragons (not anymore.) Dragons (no.) that oozed a darkness so black it hurt to look at. (would drive you insane if you stared too long.)

Her beautiful pink wings (you loved them) lying bloody in the snow. (why weren't they attached to you? do you remember?)

Horns and fur scattered around her. (those were yours too.)

Someone (something. dragons don't have shaded smiles. dragons don't laugh when they rip your horns and wings and body apart.) attacked her.

They left her (to die) bloody in the snow (like your wings.)

She remembered fading away (you almost did.)

Then someone (yes.) saved her. Put her back together. (gave you horns and wings and fur. me.) TU-18702033 (no. that's not a name.) nods, accepting her companion (thank you.)

The dragon ponders. She remembers her past life (you loved your wings more than anything) she remembers being rebuilt (improved.) And the dragon chooses a name.

The dragon, no longer TU-18702033, speaks. "Our name is Rosey. What do you think?" A weight, warm and heavy and calico, settles on her shoulder with a purr. (i... i think i like it. yes. we are... rosey.)
