"You can't hold on to Irise any longer," Misancor said flatly, sweeping into the outpost.

This seemed to come as a shock to the ivy'ed wildclaw who greeted him. "I-- I never tried to--!" She choked on her words, and stumbled sideways, reaching for a pillar to support herself.

"I know. That's why he's so confused." Misancor breathed out. "But if I can hear you reaching out to him from down in the market..."

Corona looked down. A single tear trailed down her face, past her half-mask. "I never wanted to hurt him," she said, starting to sniffle. 		Labradorite Ancestral Incense
Coral Snake Eye Agate "Yes," Misancor said. "Regardless." He exchanged a glance with Akain. "I've failed to liberate him without your resonance, so I've been authorized by Kilararen to ask you to come with me." He watched her eyes carefully. "I need you to talk to him."

She gasped. "I can't! Besides, I have duties here!" She gestured wildly at the aviary lit golden by the sunset streaming in from the open door.

"It's going to be taken care of." Misancor stepped aside, waving forward Akain, who brushed past Corona into the aviary and disappeared. "Please pack for a reasonably short trip of about four days. Usual supplies provided."
Her face crumpled dreadfully. Misancor swallowed his impulse to follow Akain to start packing for her, and instead reached out to her and firmly took her hand.

"It will be alright," he said, finding her eyes under the mask. "We can fix him. I can stabilize him somewhat until he can make a statement or whatever you prefer." He took a deep breath. "I know you cared for him. But this can't go on. You belong with us."

Corona shuddered once, twice, then pushed at her tears with her free hand. "Yes. I will. I'm sorry for all the..."

He gauged her mood carefully, then tilted his head. "It's all right. Besides, I think he misses you." 		Bloodstone Dried Jerky

Misancor dropped her hand. "I hope to leave before it gets dark. Kilararen wants this handled."

"Okay," she said. "Okay."

He caught her eye again. "We'll fix it," he said forcefully. "You and I can fix it."
