Einir

Einir is a dragon that tends to get on the others’ nerves. It’s not that he intends to annoy them—it’s just his natural stubbornness that makes them say “ugh.” Einir was born to a Wind Clan, but like Guardians all around Sornieth, he decided to leave in search of his charge as soon as he could. He wasn’t sure exactly what he was looking for…he had been told by his mother and father that a Guardian simply knows when they’ve found their charge. Unsure of himself, Einir traveled through the Wandering Contagion, where the thick air was filled with the heat and heaviness of disease. Being a Wind dragon and used to the fresh, fast air of his homeland, Einir hated it there. He was very happy when he crossed the western border into the Arcane domain, where the sea air whipped the upper branches of the Starwood forests.

Soon, Einir came across a young Clan of dragons, where two other Wind dragons named Ascetir and Sihaya lived and invited Einir to stay with them for the night. Einir told them that he would be fine taking care of himself, but those two Wind dragons insisted. Einir’s stubbornness nearly got ahold of him—he almost refused their offer—but the sight of a regal gray Guardian changed his mind. Something about her drew him in, and without realizing it, he began to walk towards her.

“That’s our leader, Eryn,” Ascetir and Sihaya said, keeping up. Einir told them she was magnificent. He couldn’t quite describe the feeling to himself; he felt warm and at peace…he felt like he was coming home.

When Einir reached that Guardian named Eryn, he asked if he could join the Clan. And he told her where he was from and about his journey, and he told her he believed she was his charge. Now, Einir remains in the Clan one of Eryn’s most stalwart watchmen. This both exasperates and amuses Eryn, who is in her own nature very humble. Often times, Einir’s independent and stubborn disposition will cause her grief. Luckily though, Eryn is one of the few dragons whom Einir will take orders from.
