After the first child of the Plagued Breeze's most powerful Battle Mage, Endthe, and her mate Jaguar, the ex-Light dragon with control of darkness, developed dangerous magic that led to his banishment from the clan, it was obvious that their next clutch would be closely watched for all of their hatchling years. Though those born of Shadow and Light dragons such as them would always have volatile magic, their parents went to great lengths to keep them away from the magical routes.

So afraid were they of history repeating itself with their younger children, Endthe and Jaguar had made a cautionary tale of the exiled Necromancer that only served to further pique their youngest child's interest. Rather than Donn, the first child's, morbid curiosity drawing him to the forbidden art of Necromancy, Darkfire was simply drawn by the prospect of breaking the rules. He kept his practice secret, until the Nature siblings Voidis and Nethis noticed an old Psywurm they knew to have died recently reappearing around the outskirts of the clan. Worried, they told Endthe..

Once again, a hatchling was cast out to fend for himself at the border of the Scarred Wasteland.
But he did not remain alone forever. Shadow and Kelvar, founder of a Clan of Schadows found him. They took Darkfire to their home, the Drifdwood Drag.
Here Darkfire has found a loving home...
