ABOUT

Ares is a kindly mage who specializes in healing magic. He has training in offensive magic as well, but opts to use it only in dire circumstances; instead, he focuses on helping his clanmates. He is one of the founders of Clan Wildrose.

BACKSTORY

Born in the Viridian Labyrinth, Ares has known Cypris since they were both hatchlings. The young Fae became dejected when his friend decided to leave home to travel the world; he understood finding a charge was a fundamental aspect of a Guardian's life, but had hoped she would find it somewhere in their homeland. He wished to travel with her, but it was near impossible; long distance travel is difficult for Faes due to their unstable food source. Traveling across Sornieth would be too huge endeavor. Figuring he would only slow her down, Ares didn't even bother asking Cypris if he could come along. It was heartbreaking; he knew it was very likely that he would never see his friend again. Heavyhearted, the Fae turned to practicing his magic as a distraction. He put all his energy and focus into training. Within time, Ares became an excellent healer. To his surprise, Cypris returned. Although he felt bad that her journey had thus far been fruitless, he was overjoyed to see her again. Perhaps, he hoped, she would stay this time. Over time, their affection grew, and soon, the two dragons mated, becoming parents to four hatchlings. They ended up taking in two other hatchlings, Peridot and Juniper, as well. Then, Celyn joined them; the little group just continued to grow from there. Before long, a decent sized clan had formed, with Cypris as its matriarch; although Ares was one of the founders, he had little desire to be a leader. Instead, he took up the role of the clan healer.
