Biography

S T E L L A

Her affinity -
Greenery, like the flora
That blooms on her wings.

History-

Plants are dumb. That means they can’t think or speak, right? I mean, I’ve never heard a plant speak. Nor have I seen them move of their own accord, which is signature expectations for an intelligent being. Plants can’t do anything. After all, they’re just plants. Just unfeeling, unthinking plants.

Yeah? Think again. Any dragon who’s spoken a single word to Stella knows better than to utter those words. There is magic within plants. Magic within nature. Ever since this young Skydancer was born, she was connected to the elements, especially the wind and earth. Was it always so simple? Yeah pretty much.

Stella here was born in the Wind flight’s territory. And immediately, there was something strange about her. Whereas the other Skydancer hatchlings tended to stick together, Stella was just as content to be in a meadow, just watching the flowers. Her mother asked her what she was doing once, and the hatchlings response was, “Talking to my flower friends.”

Beyond that point, Stella’s life was relatively normal, besides the talking to flowers bit. She grew into a young adult with a love of nature. Her family adored her, and the rest of the clan loved her. There was just something very… open and welcoming about her. No one dared to say a bad thing about her.

As she grew up, she discovered her abilities. It wasn’t plants that were thinking. No, it was the flow of magic within. The magic gave the plants a voice. Only Stella was able to hear that voice. She could also control wind currents, which made her excellent at flight. She also discovered a healing ability. She could heal most wounds and sicknesses with a simple touch. That ability was discovered when she touched a dying flower, and it immediately became bright and tall once more.

As she grew older, her desire for knowledge grew with her. She was always looking off into the distance, wondering what else was out there, beyond her small clan. No one had ever hurt her, so her family felt that she wasn’t quite ready to find out about the world all by herself. So for the time being, they advised her to stay. She had no problem with doing so.

Eventually, she was too curious about the world for her family to protect her from it any longer. Some Mages in the clan taught her how to defend herself using her powers with the elements, even though she would probably never be willing to use those skills, and her mother and father saw her off. Stella was excited to finally have her own adventure.

She had learned to survive on her own, with the forces of nature by her side, when she entered the Water territory. She was attacked by a beast from the Beastclans, and having hated violence from the moment her eyes were open, simply used a wind current to push the beast away from her until it gave up and wandered off.

Little did she know, she was being watched. A young male Imperial named Waterwind reported what he saw to his leader. She was impressed, and immediately went to talk to Stella, offering her a home with the clan. Stella, shocked and gratified and having no permanent home, agreed.

Now she works mostly as a healer, doing research and experiments in her free time. She is forever grateful to this clan for giving her a home and place she really feels comfortable in. The underwater plants here are enough to satisfy this young botanist for all eternity, assuming they last that long. But with Stella on the case, it’s almost certain that they will.

Personality-

Talk about a sweetheart. Or… actually, don’t talk about her. She’s very modest and takes compliments in a very bashful and shy way. But back to the sweet bit. She is so sweet and gentle and caring, and there is not a dragon in Sornieth who would find her disagreeable.

There’s this glow of warmth and comfort that emanates off of her. After all, we are talking about the same Skydancer who freed a Skink from a hunter’s trap several years back to keep it from being unnecessarily hunted. Growing up, she was treated with kindness and honesty and care.

As soon as she left her clan to discover the real world, she made a vow to treat all others that way, even those that did her wrong at some point or another. She treats all dragons with love and respect, even the ones who pose a threat to her.

Stella is very kind, and she despises violence, thinking those who look upon war with honor are blind fools. Dragons were not meant to kill or even harm other dragons. They were meant to live in harmony with their world and with one another. Stella would rather die than participate in the bloodshed of any living creature.

She also took a vow that said she would protect her world and the creatures within as best she could with her abilities. She knows that problems can’t always be solved with a conversation or peace treaty. Instead, some dragons want war. Those situations are the only ones that can get Stella frustrated.

She tries to be patient and talk it out, but when that doesn’t work, she has no choice but to back down. There’s nothing she can do, and that’s what causes her more pain than anything. Luckily, she is very good at persuading, and even better at calling fierce dragons back. Stella is typically more than happy to spend time alone, but she doesn’t dislike socializing.

She can be a little shy around crowds of strangers, but when she learns more about a dragon, you can guarantee that she is going to be there for them. Stella is definitely a good option if you need someone to talk to. She listens and tends to always have a benign solution, even to a big problem that seems like it could get someone hurt.

No one can truly scare her, unless of course, they start by hurting a member of her clan. This type of thing scares her because she simply can’t fight back. Stella would never allow two members of the clan to fight, and she often spends time mediating the dragons and helping them get along.
