Smithing is not easy work. It takes persistence as much as strength.

Telchine is a true master of his art, so much so he has been touched directly by the Flamecaller he so reliably answers to. It is not unsurprising then, that of his many offspring with his forever-mate, his fellow forgemaster Herculanea, they produced the powerful and prodigal primal, Pyrmal, who is rapidly overcoming his parents' vast skills. While Telchine and Herculanea continue to work, smithing the day to day tools required by the clan and various pieces of enchanted jewellery to trade, Pyrmal works to create things entirely and utterly new. Telchine and Herculanea could not be more proud.

Telchine was not always mated to Herculanea; in the early days of the clan he and Tethys were the core pair and formed a shared rulership. He, Charged with the tunnels and caverns of the clan, and she, so determined to create a life and home there, to protect the people. However, over the years their closeness did not become that of forever-mates and was never deeply romantic for all it was deeply caring. With the arrival of Herculanea and her great skill at the forge, and the arrival of Jongin, who identified Tethys as his Charge, the two finally did find their forever-mates and have ruled contentedly alongside each other since, their dear hearts at their sides.

Much of the time Telchine can be found deep in the forges far below the clan. Sometimes he's working on the plumbing system, piping hot water and cold wherever it needs to go - to the bathcaves, to the Gardens, to Palus' little Land of Light nestled in Fire's territory. Other times he's working with Herculanea, crafting stones to shape, weighing out ore and preparing the raw ingots for the next day. Sometimes he joins his wife in drawing up new plans, though this has fallen by the wayside for the both of them in recent years; though they occasionally take on custom orders, more often than not, it's Pyrmal who completes them.

He thus instead spends time investigating the works of other members of his division. Vermille, Alladine and Solsange often have new developments he is curious to hear more of, and Nergal's electricians are a lively if baffling bunch. Telchine makes no pretence at understanding those lightning-driven dragons, but he enjoys observing what solutions they come up with, even if he is at times annoyed by the problems they create.

All in all, Telchine is very happy with the life he and his friends have built, and is happy to be able to share it with them.

The Clan Forges: The place he most often dwells, it is perhaps unsurprising that the forges are something Telchine treasures. Built from the ground up, and the very origin of the funds that allow the clan to expand even now, the only thing Telchine treasures more than them is his family.

His Forge Tools: Given to him by Tethys and Herculanea or crafted himself from the raw metal and stone he found, Telchine's tools run the gamut of crude to detailed, old and worn to pristinely new. He loves each and every one.

Flamecaller's Blessing: It is perhaps unsurprising that a dragon so dedicated to fire and forges, who lives in the Flamecaller's lands and has all his life bears a clear blessing of the Flamecaller worn forever on his skin.

Simple Copper Necklace: Made for him by Tethys, it is very much modelled on her own. While the modulation magic of Tethys', though able to work on magic, is primarily to ensure she can be heard in a crowd, Telchine's allows him to both enchant with care and make himself heard over the forge-din.

Flamecaller Statue: A wedding gift from Herculanea, the Forgemistress, surprisingly, has some skill with pottery and ceramics. While she had help in shaping the votive statue, she did fire it herself, and the statue is a central item on their personal fire-shrine.

The Mines & Smelting Pits: When not forging directly, Telchine is known to visit the mines and smelting pits, speaking to Karya, the eldest of his children still remaining with the clan. It is from her and Nereus' mines that the ore is dug, and under her eye that the raw ingots are smelted.

Telchine takes the time to get to know most familiars which pass through the clan's lands, which is how he came into contact with this one.
