Naz is an unlikely coming-together of Pearlcatcher and Coatl, and he's an obvious crossbreed, too. His stumpy coatl-legs, excess feathers and lack of actual fur make him obviously coatl in origin, though his build, his horns and his little pearl make him obviously part-pearlie. That being said, his attitude comes from neither. He's as wild as an excited spiral and now he's fully grown, he's thrown this excess energy into adventuring around the world.

Though not into battling, the boy has a lot of fire- hence his love of adventure. He spends all his time travelling under the Stormcatcher's gaze to find all kinds of treasures.

In the winter, his wings become shaggy and feathery.
