Shadowglint
The Seedling: a ShadowCaster Clone
loyal | ambitious | promiscuous

Emerging from an egg that seemed to be coated in a strange goo, the hatchling looks around warily. His eyes settle on a Fae that seems to blend into the environment so well, it's as if he is a part of the Wood around him. This momentous occasion that has happened so often, an egg hatching and a tiny dragon emerging, somehow seems different than any other.

The Fae snaps out of his stillness and nods at an unknown being, invisible to all others. He turns to the hatchling and, without words, tells his story. He tells of the infinitesimal chance of his hatching, of the being whose warmth gave him life, of his mission in the world: to spread Shadows across all of Sornieth. He tells of his companion, Murktooth Bramblekeep, the protector of this Wood and their journeys so far.

His next message is far more important than anything yet said. He tells the hatchling of how they came up with a plan to ensure that the expansion of the Shadows continues for ages to come. Rather than always creating random Shadows by himself, he would create clones of himself. He found an ideal mate with his same coloring that would create perfect copies of himself. He bathes their eggs in the warmth of the Mother to ensure they enter the world as he did.

Now that the hatchling knows it's purpose and the story of ShadowCaster and the Outcasts, they are prepared to fulfil their destiny: spread the Shadows; Multiply their offspring across all of Sornieth to aid their Mother.
