War is the only rider of the four that is not immortal and once the old one dies, usually in a fierce battle, a new one takes their place. Sanguine was born into that role and hadn't known about his fate until later when he was an adolescent dragon with, well, anger issues. Unlike the other riders who are proud to be who they are, enjoying the destruction they bring, Sang despises who he is and the only war he actively partakes in is the one with himself.
