Kuchibeni was born to a pair of spirals that taught her to love all that the light brought to life. She was born in the Sunbeam ruins, where the glow of the sun warmed her scales as she curled around a collapsing pillar. The pillar would measure her growth was with each passing day, she could wrap just a little further around its girth. She found her calling within a field of wildflowers, enjoying the blooms that the sun kissed.
When word came that a new clan in the shadow flight was looking for new dragons to fill out their ranks, Kuchibeni was distraught. Her clan asked if she would be willing to travel to this new clan. It turned out not to be asking, but an order from the clan leader, an order she couldn't refuse. She was young, the shadow clan was young, and they both had room to grow. She wasn't given a choice, and the spiral was terrified of the darkened lands. "But momma! There is no light there! How can anything grow when there is no sun?" She cried, knowing she couldn't change her mother's mind. "Honey, just remember, there can be no shadow without light, and there can be no light when there is no darkness to brighten. You can see the tall trees from here, there is ivy that grows along the edges of our territories, flowers in the dark. I've even heard that some plants glow. Now wouldn't that be a sight to see? Now run along honey and join the others that will be leaving for new clans as well." Gulping, the little spiral bravely ventured to the border where she was to await the representative of the new clan she was to join, Sylvan Shadows. A tundra not much larger than her was waiting. "Are you Kuchibeni?" she asked, and the spiral had no words but to nod. "Right then. I'm Shadowside, pleased to meet you. Izzy, our leader, would have met you herself but she got pulled in another direction as another dragon wished to join us. For a tiny fae, she sure is able to get around quickly." On the walk back to the clan, the spiral was quiet while the tundra made small talk. That is, until Kuchibeni noticed a glow in the dark. "Oh! Mother told me she heard of glowing plants!" With a smirk, Shadowside rolled her eyes. "If that impressed you, just wait until you see the real big ones!" The spiral grew to love the gloomy forest, for even in the shadows, somehow things still grew, perhaps the dismal light was enough for them, perhaps the glowing mushrooms helped the other plants. But it all worked in harmony, and that was something she could enjoy. Nowadays, she works with Shadowside with interior decorating, dried blooms and herbs for scent, fresh flowers arranged just so, glowing mushrooms within every room as a night light, and as lighting throughout the den. She also works with Cyr, the resident artist, helping inspire his work. Outside the den is her main passion. The spiral has erected a garden that houses plants from every region. She has greenhouses that feel like you walked into another flight. It is her dream to open this greenhouse to the public and show any traveler what the plant life is like in other regions. As traders come through, she trades floral arrangements, flower apparel, exotic flowers, and whatever else she can for new seeds and cuttings, for that jar of dirt from the Ashfall Waste, or that a jug of water from the deepest depths of the Tidelord's domain.
