Serendibite does not know her true origins. She was sent away not long after she was hatched. However, she does have a dim memory of being taken away from her mother. She was the byproduct of Pyrite and Quartz of the Redwood Court using a surrogate to produce heirs. Since she was born a Nocturne, she had to be sent away to protect her sister Charoite's true origins from being discovered.

She was placed with a family, but she began to have conflicts with them almost as soon as she could speak. She constantly demanded to be returned to her real mother, accusing her innocent adoptive family of kidnapping her. Safir had tried to keep Serendibite, pleading with Pyrite to not send her away. However, he was determined to protect his new daughter and his wife from being shamed by the Court, so he insisted that she be sent away. He convinced Safir by telling her that life would be terrible for Serendibite too if she were discovered, so it would be better for her to be adopted by a distant family.

Serendibite eventually left her adoptive family to try and find her real one. She is dimly aware of what her mother looks like, but unfortunately her descriptions are not very distinctive. She's encountered many Nocturnes that look like her mother, but none of them have claimed to be her mother.

*A visitor wanders it a clearing near the big top and sees a kind of makeshift trapeze made from wooden pillars and rods with wire swings and tight ropes. Here there are two nocturnes with shimmering white scales doing maneuvers, using their tails to catch the other as they swing with their claws or wings. They did not use their wings, simply keeping the other aloft with a bond that mean they trusted the other would catch them.*

*after a bit the two stop and start talking, hanging from the swings by there tails. From what the visitor can hear they seem to be discussing the sequence of movements they had just performed. The girl looks down and sees the visitor, with a comment to the boy he flies off and she floats down onto the grass.*

Hello there, you a visitor? *she smiles pleasantly, tilting her head as she asked her question. The visitor nods and gives their name, she nods happily when they finish* It is good to meet you, I am Serendibite but most just call me Seren, and if you hear anyone call me Dibty... *she frowns, while blushing a little bit* Only my brother is allowed to call me that.

*the visitor nods and she nods too* Good that you understand. I'm a performer and I can't be called silly names by just anyone. My brother and I perform acrobatic moves on the trapeze, to the delight and awe of the crowd. *she puffs out her chest proudly* We travel around with the Midnight Circus.

*her confidence starts to falter as something darker crosses her mind* I'm going to be a bit honest with you. I'm travelling around in hopes of finding my mother, I know lots of dragons leave their parents at a young age, but, *she pauses and she smiles through sad eyes*

I was hoping I could one day ask her why she gave us away so soon. I barely remember her but I know she looked a lot like me. Hematite doesn't even remember her, he was given away a lot earlier then me I guess.

*she shakes her head, quickly rubbing her face of any tears that might have formed* I shouldn't be bothering you with this kind of thing. You came here to enjoy yourself and to meet new, entertaining dragons. *she gives a renewed smile*

My brother is always fun to work with, he can be a bit clumsy at times but I love him all the same. Goddess knows, I've been clumsy too. *she giggles*

Thank you for the visit. It is nice to chat with people that aren't part of the troupe. I should go find my brother now, knowing him he's gotten himself half deep into one of Theresa's apple pies. *she waves the the visitor and flies off towards the other tents, the visitor watches her leave before heading towards the tents themselves*
