Daughter of a proper tree dragon and a Touched one, Hibiscus grew up in a mix of situations. While on the privacy of their clan she experienced the love and nurturing care of her parents and the kindness of her mates, the outside still was ruthless and cold. She soon grew to hate everything that was outside their little family. Being from one of the most distant lands, Hibiscus didn't hear about Juniper until the Wildclaw came to the Plateau looking specifically for her. Although tempted by the offer, she initially refused, distrusting the world that so easy turned on them because of something they had no decision over. It was only Juniper's character that slowly changed her mind. The other dragon hadn't pressed nor demanded, and had accepted her refusal with politeness and a wish of well being. Hibiscus was able to catch up with her in the Tangled Woods, and made the rest of the journey to the Wilds in her company. Juniper's company proved really useful, as soon the spiral began to open up to others. Her distant behavior proved to be a façade, and the real Hibiscus was revealed to be very intelligent and loyal, with a sharp tongue and a dry sense of humor. The cold Hibiscus returns every once in a while -when she scolds some ill-behaved hatchling or meets an outsider- but this usually lasts for a few minutes before she is back to her true self. Her Wind magic and a strange affinity with birds allow her to be of use. She uses the birds to carry messages, often giving them some sort of boost -she won't say what she does- to make them fly faster. This has earned the title of Messenger, and all the dragons of the clan often ask her to deliver their letters and packages to their loved ones. Hibiscus is also in charge of delivering more official missives to other clans, being a key player in mantaining peace. |
