Biography
W R A I T H
The Veiled Puppeteer
Mate of Marionette
Bio by Phyrne
NECROMANCER | WITCH DOCTOR | OCCULTIST
Mate of Marionette
Wraith. His very name brings up a certain image, a memory of ghostly creatures long-since passed. If his name alone can cause a shiver to run down one’s spine, the sight of him is certain to cause a similar effect. It’s strange, unearthly; bone-chilling, to say the least. While he still retains clear traits that mark him as a dragon, there’s something entirely unnatural about him. This Wildclaw has clear connections to the Plague flight, and any sane dragon would do well to keep their distance. In some ways, Wraith also keeps his distance – emotionally speaking, at least. During conversation, other dragons find him to be a bit detached and distant, eerie even. There’s something not quite right about him, although it’s very difficult to pinpoint exactly what that is. Perhaps it’s his creatures, his creations, dare I say minions? These unholy servants, brought to life through dark necromancy, seem to have no will of their own. They exist only to serve Wraith and his purposes. But… Before he brought them to life, they did not exist at all. It is difficult to say whether or not the work he does is wrong. But that’s an argument for the philosophers to make, and most dragons in the clan have decided to trust him for now – at least tentatively so. In part, his uncharacteristically paternal affection for the clan’s wayward hatchlings seems to redeem him in some dragons’ eyes. Wraith clearly has a soft spot for the younger dragons in the clan. He often makes curious trinkets for them, decorated in feathers, beads, and bone. The hatchlings don’t seem to see him as a threat. When he interacts with them and other dragons, Wraith is always careful to wear a hood in a valiant attempt to conceal his unnerving appearance. It helps a little, but doesn’t hide away his unnatural features entirely. Wraith also has an unusual relationship with his mate, Marionette. The two appear to be similar in many ways, not even considering their close coloration and apparel. There’s something not quite right between them. Many dragons in the clan have theories. The most popular of which states that she’s just another one of his creatures, under his control. That doesn’t seem quite right, but perhaps it isn’t as far from the truth as some might think. |
