Biography
Gen 2 imperial.
For bio:
Vanjari was a warrior but he was blinded in battle. His eyes went septic and he stumbled around half dead for a long time. Eventually, he wandered into a swamp and began to sink.
The little guy with him is a gloomwillow guide. The name is site canon but we don't really know anything about them. For my purposes they guide anything living through the swamps so they won't fall and die. Of course, there are plenty of other things lurking out there pretending to be them.
This little guy realised Vanjari was struggling and used his magic to fell a dead tree. He guided Vanjari to the fallen trunk and encouraged him to pull himself out onto safe land. At this point the dragon was pretty much dead from hunger and pain. And, though he probably wouldn't admit it if you ask him, fear.
The guide went to a healer he knows. The healer was of the Talanok, a bird-like people who are the sworn enemies of dragons. Dragons, uh, kind of invaded their lands and tore their homes to pieces. The healer, however, while initially reluctant to help, knew his duty and went to see if he could assist.
A lot of restorative potions, herb compresses and a horrible journey fumbling toward disembodied voices to a safer place later, Vanjari finally began to recover. On learning his healer was of the Talanok clans he found he had a lot to think about - they were the main beastclan he used to battle against and he'd been raised to think of them as barely more than animals.
Eventually he healed enough to go on his way. The guide decided to stay with him as his eyes. They had bonded closely during those months Vanjari was so close to dead - the only thing keeping him here was the voice of the guide telling him to hold on, that he was stronger than this. Gloomwillow guides don't use names in their culture but for the sake of the dragon he allowed Vanjari to name him. So he now uses the name Torch.
There's little else to tell. Vanjari and Torch found Clan Morpho in their travels and of course Fenix takes in any lost dragons needing shelter. Vanjari is a peaceful type these days. He's learning from the clan herbalist and the gardeners how to tell plants by scent and touch and he wants to make basic poultices and potions to help others. Clan Morpho is neutral on the subject of the beastclans and even trades with some, which suits Vanjari just fine. He hopes one day to find his Talanok saviour and take the healer and his clan gifts in thanks.
