(Persuaded the clan to join the new flight) I never saw a discontented tree. They grip the ground as though they liked it, and though fast rooted they travel about as far as we do. -John Muir- This brand new tyke is an interesting addition to the clan. When the clan crossed the boarder going from Lightning into light, with Larka's request to avoid water territory. Then a short while later they crossed into shadow, where they met the storytelling Laiha on the border right before they stepped into Earth territory. Within a few moments of crossing the border between Shadow and Earth, the clan found themselves on the Shattered Plain. This barren place was rather unwelcoming and the clan didn't plan to stay too long, because they had been promised a much better living on the other side of the plain. However with the sun reaching its peak, the clan needed to bed down underground, as was normal for any desert-hardened clan escaping the killing heat of the sun. While on the search for drinking water down in the deeper cracks on the scarred surface, the ground scout Abaddon came across a small cave that nothing more than a few average sized dragons could have possibly fit into. The three nests that were crammed into the space were old and the scents of the previous clan were stale by many weeks. In many of the nests were eggs that seemed to have all been overtaken by rot instead of being dormant as most dragon eggs become when they are left unattended. Scraping at some of the bedding in search of some that was still fresh enough to use, Abaddon was aware that the materials used were signs of Tundra and Fae activity. Digging down a little ways on the edge of one of the nests pulling away all the freshest down she could find, Abaddon's claws met with a rough rocky surface. Peering down at the objects at her feet, she realized that she had stumbled on two eggs that had not been taken by rot yet. Smelling them, she could tell that they were living and the next moment she was off to go alert her clan of her find. Larka would want to know about these eggs that had managed to survive the rot that plagued clan enough to force them to abandon their all of their eggs. Once they returned to the cavern, nothing new had happened. The air was just as still as it had been, the sent of sandstone around them. Starling crept behind Abaddon into the space and looked to the nest that she had indicated with a gruff "over there." Starling Scented both of the eggs with an interested glimmer in her eyes. They both smelled healthy for the most part so she bayed to Larka who was waiting outside the opening that was too small for her frame. Larka reared back, telling the two smaller dragons to shelter eggs. She brought her strong forelimbs down onto the cliff face above the entrance and with a giant crack of lightning breath the small hole worn away by years of water erosion was blasted away instantly. Crawling into the now much larger cavern, Larka was able to get a good look at the tiny eggs before her. One was larger than the other and slightly orange compared to the much smaller bluish egg. She took her massive talons and gingerly lifted one of the eggs from its place and swiftly turned on her haunches telling anyone to lift the other as carefully as they could and then left without a glance backward. Starling looked to Rainbow who walked up and grabbed the remaining egg for her and they left side-by-side with the egg between them.
