Quarrae is a young but highly skilled warrior, trained to Menta's exacting standards in both philosophy and battle. Naturally sharp-witted, it is her observational intelligence which distinguishes Quarrae from other apprentices.

However, where Menta's sentimentality might intervene, Quarrae is ruthless. She is not inclined to take pity on an enemy who has been defeated, seeing little value in defeat.

Originating from Althra's Clan, she followed Menta when he defected to the Temple of the Lambent Loom as Menta's squire and top student.

She assisted in the training of acolytes from all Flights, and if an impatient tutor, she made up for her cool nature in sheer effort. It would seem that Quarrae wanted little else in the world than to please her tutor.

However, there was a falling out shortly after Vivacia was given to Menta's teachings by Wit of Althra's Clan. Vivacia, cunning by nature, was frequently dismissive of Quarrae and her abilities. When it was decreed that Vivacia should be Menta's second apprentice by none less than Deimos himself, Quarrae's disgust was evident, and her relationship to Menta suffered as a result.

She finished her training, and has declared her desire to leave the Temple as quickly as possible, returning to Althra's Lair.
