A strong macho dragon who (unbeknownst to him) is known for his soft heart and determination, Romaine does his best to protect his clan. He loves to battle and is quick to confront others, especially if it makes him look impressive. He used to be a wonderful flyer, more agile than most Imperials. But after being attacked as a yearling by another clan of dragons, his wings were left mangled. Only after getting his wings mechanically enhanced was he able to fly again, but not nearly as well as he used to. Determined to not let his handicap stop him, he approaches every obstacle head on.

In battle, he relies mostly on his sheer size and strength, and not so much on brains. Fortunately, he is balanced with his mate and battle partner Daikon, who tempers his actions and gives direction to his actions. In return he adores her, and channels this huge soft spot for her and their children through protectiveness (and fatherly overbearingness to the latter). Romaine can be found at Daikon's side, training warriors in the clan and overseeing the workings of the clan. Though he is also seen as a leader of the clan, most of the decision-making on the functioning of the Calcareous Cove is done by Daikon while he leads the warriors.
