A genius innovator, master chemist, and sorcerer, Rampant traveled to The Rift with her fellow scientists seeking to exploit its potential for her experiments. As it turned out, exposure to Rift energies was extremely useful in the progression of alchemagick, which she co-authored with Vortis in order to restore his health.

Though still in its infancy, alchemagick is making leaps and bounds with each successful life-fusion performed. Under Rampant's supervision, Star Augur's three ailing sisters were among the first to undergo a full fusion ritual with their familiars.

Each emerged as something no longer a dragon.

Nevertheless, the alchemagicians feel they are closing the gap on perfection. Rampant's refusal to admit defeat has her constantly chasing leads on more experimental subjects, which she sees as chances to practice her new art while saving lives. The process of alchemagick is very closely guarded between her and Vortis, but they have begun to publish their findings among the other greatest scientists of Tempest Spire. She travels there and back frequently, putting her familiar in charge of handling the laboratory and note-taking in her absence.

Rampant, like her friend Trivet, is in possession of what she calls "ley lines." These rare luminous patterns form a full circuit across the surface of her body, and allow her to build and maintain an infinite loop of magic energy without any of it being lost to entropy. Properly managed, these give her spells and breath a wicked power beyond that of an ordinary mage, as well as allowing herself to become a living conduit for the massive magic energies needed for alchemagick ritual work.
